Tried Royal Manchester Restaurant last week for the first time and, overall, the food was delicious!
We ordered the lamb karahi (off the bone), chicken achari, lamb nihari, family naan and rice. The food did take quite a while to arrive, but when it did, it was definitely worth the wait. Our top two were the lamb karahi and chicken achari, both were full of flavour and we’d definitely recommend them. The lamb nihari was nice, but probably our least favourite of the three.
The restaurant itself felt quite outdated and could definitely do with a refresh. The toilets especially needs some attention, the mixed gender setup didn’t feel particularly comfortable, and unfortunately the toilets were also quite dirty and messy.
Overall, despite the wait and the condition of the restaurant, the food was really tasty. I’d definitely go back for the lamb karahi and chicken achari!- Meal type

It’s under new management now. Lamb chops are delicious. Lamb shinwari karahi is a must to try. Chicken karahi is average.

What a fantastic experience at Manchester Royal Restaurant on Cheetham Hill Road! From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel very welcome. The staff were friendly, polite, and attentive, and the service throughout was excellent.
The food was absolutely delicious — fresh, full of flavour, and beautifully prepared. The portions were generous, and you could really appreciate the quality and care that went into the food. Everything we had was enjoyable, and there was a great choice on the menu.
The atmosphere was also lovely and relaxed, making it a great place whether you’re visiting with family, friends, or simply looking for a nice meal. It’s always a pleasure to find a restaurant where the food, service, and overall experience all come together so well.
A big thank you to everyone at Manchester Royal Restaurant for making our visit such a great one. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be coming back again. I would happily recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for delicious food, generous portions, friendly service, and a welcoming atmosphere.

This resturant was recommended by a family friend, I bring my family , we order chicken malaise boti and chicken kebab,kebab was fresh n yummy but malaise boti was uncooked red inside we asked them for proper cook but it was still taste less, rest of the food was good, I asked staff to clear the table as we were waiting for next items, nobody happy to listen, I clear table by myself and clean it too, I call staff three time still not came in, everyone start eating next to us , and the manager put concentrate on our family
( girls) instead of their SERVICE, Very poor service, not recommended for a family

Good food and good service but I did notice the over priced drinks cans at £2.50 this is a big no, not on drinks. Everything else was fine.

First time eating here and the food was 10/10, the lahori lamb karahi was so flavourful and the mixed grill starter was super fresh. The staff was attentive especially the waiter Arif. I would highly recommend this place
